Online Penn Foster Career School for Physical Therapy Aide?
I've gone to their website and read others' questions about the school. But is it legit? I'm interested in becoming a physical therapy aide, but didn't know if I should trust this institution with my future. Does anyone have first hand experience with this degree? Any information on whether this is a scam or not?
I've almost completed my bach's in Psychology. I'm really mostly interested in expanding my education on my own time.
Although its not necessarily a "scam," I hardly think it's worth it. You can become a PT aide (note: different from physical therapy assistant) without any formal experience.
for a $500-700 program for a job that pays a little above minimum wage, I wouldn't waste my money. Especially because aide/tech jobs are not that prevelant.
No and while you're at it, you should have called it in to have a police report done. Your manager needs a refresher course on handling infective fluids/solids. The bathroom should be closed & locked until properly sanitized, with proper infection control clothing & masks & gloves worn.
I would definitely file a complaint against this manager and how the situation was handled. If you have not been trained to clean up these types of accidents at work, she is 100% wrong in telling you that you should clean it up. You need to be trained in Hazardous Cleanup of feces & such as well as proper Sanitation Cleanup…you don't say that you are a nurse or in the medical profession. Is she? Then she might be able to put on some infection control clothing & do the job herself. You should inform whatever Store Mgr. is above her, file the complaint, and write down all the details of this incident in case you have to seek legal counsel in the future(like your position is threatened because of it). Your EE cafeteria should have a posted EE rights & an 800 # that you can contact for a private investigation of the matter. If anyone should be concerned, she should. She could be the one to lose her job. Public Safety should be her #1 priority here…it would have been an issue of closing down, locking that bathroom, and calling in the Janitor staff for a proper cleaning. There are sanitation laws for a reason. Why do you think people that work in Sanitation or the Medical fields have to be so careful about Hepititus shots & such?!Be safe. GuardDog
