I read an article that Nigeria is the happiest place on Earth. One of the most poorest countries is the happiest. I heard they have to work a full year just to afford 1 cheese burger from McDonald's.
The point of the article and the one I'm trying to make is, money does not = happiness. Actually, it seems like the richer you get, the unhappier you become.
It makes sense. Think about it... if you were rich, how would you know your friends liked you for who you are instead of how much money you had? How would you know your boyfriend/girlfriend loved you for you and not your bank account? Being poor makes that easy to tell.
It's like a blind person that marries what everyone sees as a visually ugly person. Blind people can't see so they visualize people by the quality of person they are. If someone is a jerk their ugly. If someone is polite, nice, and genuinely caring, they're beautiful.
It's not just relationships. Everything means more because you know you worked hard for it. A car you buy with your money means more than a car some one buys for you.
