Is it really safe to give my dog cold water?

When i mean cold i mean cooooold baby...
its another scorcher today..
and its october...
why is that? huh guess ill have to bug the geeks at GLOBAL WARMING a little later.
I care about my dog, i want him to feel as comfortable as possible, sure i bring him inside when the heat is unbearable, but when im working i he's out in the backyard, there's shade, he has an igloo, but i was thinking during lunch to stop by and drop a bag of ice in his water supply to really make that water refreshing for him, it may be a stupid question but is it safe for his core tempature/body temp.? i dont want him to catch a fever/cold... any dog experts help me out much appreciated

Our french bulldogs get overheated very easily and our vet (also the breeder that we got them from) suggests putting ice cubes in the dog's water to make it cold.

This will not cause any harm to your dog, just make sure that he will still drink if there are ice cubes floating in it...this can freak out some dogs causing them not to drink as much and get dehydrated.

Good Luck! I hope this helped

going on a fishing trip for a week?

hi im going on a fishing trip uo north for a week and anyhow what should i bring, basically the place supplies us with a bit of food and a cabin no beds anything i know what to bring for fishing just what should i bring like sleeping bags bug spray stuff like this

definitely bring some bug spray, which you've already thought of. bring along some sunblock...highest SPF available and perhaps some aloe in case you stay out too long. Take along some extra towels, jugs of water, and food that doesn't require refrigeration (peanut butter, bread, crackers, potted meat, veinna sausages, snacky stuff). Take along some matches or a striker for making a fire. Will you be cooking fish while you are there? remember the frying pan!! don't forget cups for the water. bring a sleeping bag, extra blanket, and a pillow. Will you be needing an alarm clock? If you are going out on a boat or out in a very sunny area, might be good to bring along some SPF chap stick (for sun or wind burn).

have a good time!
