Sounds like you could use the advice.
Edit: I heard this story yesterday as an example of Fox's stupidity in believing it. Have they issued a retraction?
Pindar, you've made my day. Not only is it true because it's been echoed around all these famously reliable sites, thus showing how reliable they are, but it doesn't even matter that it isn't true.
Most of these take place in the couple weeks prior to the first predicted snow fall, usually second week of November in my area. Step one: repack survival kits for all cars. Step two: rotate food out of emergency supplies in basement. Step three: clean all guns. Step four: put away yard furniture. Step five: perform vehicle maintenance on cars. Step six: fill all gas cans with fuel and stabilizer. Step seven: check seals on all windows and doors. Step eight: clean rain gutters. Step nine: cut grass short for end of the year. Step ten: freeze or can garden vegetables. Step eleven: clean and put away camping gear. Step twelve: change fan and thermostat settings/change filter.
