car survival kits

What are some good things for a firefighter academy survival kit?
In a little over a month, I'm taking Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 Certification through my college. The class runs from 6 AM-4 PM so I'm putting together a survival kit to keep in the trunk of my car. I'm a 5 foot nothing, 110 pound female and don't really know what to expect, apart from lots of bruises and hard physical activity.
Since you are taking the academy at a college that starts at 6AM I would expect PT first thing in the morning. Make sure you have plenty of water and drinks like Gatorade. A bottle of motrin could not hurt. Prepare yourself the night before each class by getting a good amount of sleep and eat a good dinner with energy foods like pasta. If you are not in great shape now, start running and doing push-ups, situps, etc. Good luck!

Get him on a good program with nicotine gum or the patch. Make sure he's talked to his doctor about options.
Take him places where smoking is not an issue. For example, if you like to bar-hop or go to casinos, those are harder places to avoid smoking than in a movie theater.
Get some exercise with him. Studies show it helps reduce cravings.
Take him out or make him a great meal. Gives him oral sensation without smoking.
Keep encouraging him to stick to his resolve and be patient when he's frustrated.
See if you can get him to take up gum-chewing as an alternative.
Good luck.
