I read Sue Hogans reflections and felt an acheing inside. Here we live through hurricaines that come the worst in august to november. Like fires we smell, feel, see, and hear the inevitable unstopable coming and the wind and water kill. Likewise here we prepare our survival kits and grab our treasures of life and memories and run for safety and come back to twisted and rotting destruction. After decades I have come to terms with that type of disaster and place my hope and strength to overcome in the Lord. But now I am seeing a disaster coming that is destroying homes, communities and lives across the entire nation and it is of our own making. As wave on wave of economic collapse comes there is not the same sense of the ability to return to rebuild in the near future if at all for this generation and possibly the next. The option to move to a new city, to return to school, to begin anew is lost as every corner is in severe distress not just the coastlands, the river plains, the forests or the grasslands. People are loosing there homes by the millions and having to take there plastic bags containing the essentials of their lives and seek shelter with others far from the homes they had. The destruction of natural agents usually leaves a fresh palette that with wisdom one can go back and rebuild over 5-10 years. The present storm begins to appear that at least two if not more generations will live in the destruction before hopefully wisdom has a chance to prevail.

Good stuff…thanks for posting this. You have a lot of stuff crammed in this–what's the total weight? I think Crazy glue was invented during the Vietnam war to treat combat wounds…so that's a good suggestion to include.

Oh fer cryin’ out loud! Sure it was a teeny bit, um, imperfectly safe but isn’t that what Scouts is for? My nine year old is a new Wolf Cub because he wanted more adventure, but I researched the packs in my area to make sure he joined one that wasn’t risk averse. We were very lucky, the most cconvenient pack for us is a fairly old school one. we got a good taste of that attitude the night they were assembling their survival kits and our son – after having been warned of how sharp it was and how to handle it properly – was fooling around with his pocket knife. I’m told everyone, including our son, stayed quite calm while they got out the bandages and cleaned up his finger.

I totally agree and JEsus said He'd come back like a “thief in the night” so why would he tell so called “prophets” and get them to advertise it on youtube? Makes no sense to me. Which one's lying humans or jesus? Answers itself doesn't it
