The supplies given by charities. I heard the men sell the goods, food and clothes for money, then buy alcohol, a gun, and drugs, leaving their family with nothing. Now they are given nothing, leaving the men at the mercy of the woman they abused. And is that why the men are complaining.

what are the chances of a national/global disaster?
Lots of people I know, my significant other included, are convinced that we need to have preparations (food, guns, ammo, water, shelter, etc) in case something major happens locally, nationally or worldwide. Thing is, I feel dumb buying supplies if nothing is going to happen, so I'm wondering what could happen, what would the effects be, and what are the chances?
Chances are next to zero.
