Where would you keep a hunters time capsule?
I asked earlier today what you would put in one now where would you keep it?
If you kept it at home generations down the line it would probably be lost or used. But if you kept it in say a wilderness or in some remote area it would require them to find it. And they just might need it to get there.
So where would you keep a suit case sealed container with survival gear and knowledge for a distant relative? We are talking maybe generations from now after some collapse of society or disaster to survive in the wilderness. This would be different than a bug out bag or home survival kit.
Maybe a bear cave? Lol Where would you stash it?
This would be for any place in SE Alaska but could be for any state.

Get yourself one of those hard plastic overpack drums, the kind they put leaky 55 gallon drums in, with the air tight screw on lid. Put your case inside that overpack drum, pick a remote spot out in the wilderness somewhere, somewhere you know for a fact will never be built on. Bury it deep, mark it's location on GPS and log those coordinates in the family bible, for emergency use only.

The point is _to take it with you_, not to go back for it. A kit should be designed to contain the things you are most likely to need in the event of a disaster. If you live in a hurricane area, maybe not a tent, but a tarp to spread on some patch of dry land or roof. Everything in it should be in a waterproof container.
The minimum is water, food, crankable radio, light source.
