How long can aftershocks last after and earthquake?
I live in San Diego(la jolla) and we were hit by the 7.2 earthquake in Mexicali i felt the earthquake at 3:40 pm and at 6 pm i felt 2 very small aftershocks 2 minutes apart. Just now i was lying in my bed trying to fall asleep at 4 am i felt another. how long is this going to last?
Depends on the strength of the earthquake, how it was caused etc.
Have to remember chilie is still suffering from aftershocks after their major quake this year.
Some earthquakes can suffer from thousands of small aftershocks. But hopefully for you it won't last long.

Hey Rachel, I have some information on the state of the orphanage and nutrition center that you were referring to. Ryan has been down there to work with Roberta the past four years and we are scheduled to go in March. During the earthquake and aftershocks two of the perimeter walls at Roberta's fell and at the guesthouse two of the walls are down there are there are some structural damages there as well. Estes is working on sending groups down there to try and fix the walls for security reasons. One group left out today and they will be sending teams weekly to repair the damage. Thank you to MGM for all the help! We are praying for you guys!!!
