I have this question on my homework and i have no clue what it is asking and what the answer is so i hope i get an answer to my question before its dew.
An epicenter (origin of the earthquake) is usually located along a fault line

I live in a small town in southwestern Utah and to the west of us they’ve oversold water rights (meaning they’re removing more than can be replaced naturally). Government officials have known about it for years but they’ve done nothing to remedy the situation. At this point they’ve pumped out so much water that giant fissures have opened up in the earth. People at first thought they were earthquake fault lines, but they’re big old cracks from depleting the groundwater.
