SF Earthquake Info: Names Of Deceased?
Hi there. So, I recently found out that my great-great-grandfather (my grandfather's grandfather) left his wife and children to sail around the world. Shortly afterwards, he disappeared. However, the last recorded place he was seen was in San Francisco, CA, in 1906, before the earthquake. Now, as you may know, there were a TON of deaths in this earthquake, and to reduce panic, the city of San Francisco only released a portion of those names. Apparently, my great-great-grandfather's name was not the list. However, recently, the San Francisco archives released the rest of the names of the deceased. I'm going to a family reunion soon, and I thought it would be cool if I found out if my great-great-grandfather really did die in The Great 1906 Earthquake. So, my question is, does anyone know where I could find the new list of the deceased in the 1906 earthquake. Thanks so much for helping me solve my little family mystery!
I don't know if this is as detailed as you're hoping for, but the link below is a very good place to start.
