		<description>The earth was quakin&#039; my mind was achin&#039;. Well, we didn&#039;t exactly shake all night long, but there were a couple of minor earthquakes that rolled through our little beach community. I&#039;ve never been closer to the epicenter of an earthquake (that I&#039;ve felt), and the initial jolt was definitely more powerful than I&#039;d imagined. Luckily, these little three point nothing quakes don&#039;t really do much but shake the walls and scare the dog for a half second. It does bring back a couple memories though... I am reminded of the earthquake preparedness kits from back in the day, Redeemer Lutheran Elementary School to be exact. Everything we could ever need crammed into a giant gallon-sized ziploc baggie. Ritz crackers, hard candy, can of your favorite shredded fish, water in tear-way foil-looking thin bags, flashlight, can opener, and whatever non-perishables would fit. I&#039;m not sure how long that would have sustained our frail little bodies back then, but it is a good reminder to always be prepared. Time to stock the house with some of...</description>
