Geography question, need help?

I am doing Sichuan earthquake as part of my assignment and i need to find as much information as i can...
Location, Duration, Intensity
What happened with tectonic movement

Affection to natural and built environment (loss of life, damage to buildings,e.t.c)

Human influence on sustanability.(Minimisation, Recovery and Reconstruction)

Location
A 7.9M earthquake struck Sichuan Province on Monday, May 12, 200. Sichuan is a province in western China, with its capital Chengdu. Sichuan has been historically known as the "Province of Abundance, " as it is one of the major agricultural production bases of China 30.986°N, 103.364°E

Duration
The rupture of the fault started in the mountains northwest of the city of Chengdu and then, over the next 50 seconds, traveled at least 200 km (100 miles) toward the northeast, tearing apart the land along the front of the mountain range. The rupture lasted close to 120 sec, with the majority of energy released in the first 80 sec.

Intensity - Magnitude 7.9

What happened with tectonic movement
Scientists at the Caltech Tectonics Observatory have started analyzing the devastating earthquake that struck China's Sichuan province on May 12. This tragic event is one of a series of earthquakes in the earthquake-prone region and is likely to be repeated. Here we examine the underlying physics.
The earthquake occurred in an area that is deforming as a result of the collision between two tectonics plates, the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate.
This collision, which has been going on for 50 million years, is the cause of the high mountains and widespread seismicity observed throughout central Asia. The area of dense circles between India and Asia covers a wide region that is undergoing large strain and deformation. It is this strain that led to the Sichuan quake and will lead to others.
India has been moving northward at a rate of about 4 cm/year (2 inches/yr), which is about as fast as fingernails grow, pushing into central Asia and thus pushing Tibet eastward, out of its way. The 2008 Sichuan earthquake occurred where the eastern part of Tibet, forced further eastward, overrides the Sichuan basin at a rate of about 4 mm/year (an eighth of an inch/yr). This is the cause of the ongoing rise of the Longmen Shan mountain range that marks the eastern border of Tibet.
Aftershocks were still occuring within 5 days after the quake. Aftershocks are expected to continue and may do so for months or even years afterward, as happened in the recent Sumatra earthquake, though the frequency decreases with time.
Maximum vertical slippage did not occur at the epicenter but at a location about 60 km northeast of the epicenter.
This is an area of high earthquake risk.
Thus, it is likely that more earthquakes will occur in this region.

damage to buildings,e.t.c
30 million people in rural communities have been severely hit, losing most of their assets. Thousands of hectares of farmland were destroyed, millions of farm animals died, houses and grain stores collapsed and thousands of pieces of agricultural machinery were damaged.
In addition, thousands of greenhouses have collapsed causing severe losses of vegetable crops. Major seed growing areas in the province, producing up to 20 percent of China’s rice seeds, have been badly hit by the earthquake with more than 20 000 hectares affected. Rice fields have dried up due to cracks and craters and irrigation systems have been interrupted. In some villages, up to 70 percent of rice fields have been damaged. The next harvest could face a shortfall between 10 and 50 percent, due to delayed planting, pests and water shortages.
Over three million pigs have been killed by the earthquake, with some villages having lost up to 70 percent of their livestock. Overall livestock losses are estimated at about $2 billion.

Rehabilitation and recovery
Urgent provision of fertilizers, pesticides, farm tools and machinery, livestock and reclaiming damaged fields will be the main challenge.
The medium and long-term relief efforts will have to focus on the rehabilitation of water reservoirs, dams, animal shelters, the training of farmers in cash crop production and disaster preparedness. Also, the Bureau of Agriculture in each county needs support to rehabilitate damaged infrastructure, office equipment, seed inspection and testing facilities, warehouses and technical extension services.
The Chinese authorities have asked FAO to coordinate the agricultural rehabilitation efforts in Sichuan province.

China Earthquake Recovery and Reconstruction Priorities vid 8

English to french translation? Few sentences I'm stuck on.?

"Led by Jean Jacques Dessalines, the haitian colony revolted against the french, and aided by disease, managed to defeat them, winning its freedom."

"After the earthquake the world quickly acted to help Haiti and start its recovery. Although poor and damaged, Haiti is still a beautiful country, and given time, hopefully it will recover and reach its full potential."
