earthquake safe homes

How do you feel about the earthquake survivors living moving to America?
I dont mean to sound unsympathetic but I'm not in favor of moving the survivors into the U.S. I don't think that would be a safe move to make. A lot of them have had rough lives and in return, have picked up rough ways of living. They wouldnt think twice about robbing or killing one of us. They wouldnt think twice about breaking into our homes. I wouldnt feel as safe. There are people living in this country who NEED assistance but are unable to get it. We have our own homeless people and people struggling with no assistance from the government. How are we going to feed the people of Haiti. Are we giving them free rent?.. We cant give our own people free rent when they need it. I'm just not in favor.. I think they should go to Haiti, fix some houses and build them somewhere to sleep and handle the situation like that. Does anyone feel me?.. I'm not racist, I'm actually an African American.. I just dont feel thats the best choice...
I'm not in favor.

Home Preparedness in Earthquake Country
Earthquake in San Francisco?
San Francisco has improved their building code by quite a bit ever since the last couple of quakes, do you guys think that if there is (when there is) another major one most of the buildings and houses will hold up pretty well? I heard that in the 6.9 1989 quake not many buildings and houses collapsed within the city. Does anyone have any knowledge about this and perhaps a few tips to keep your home a safer place? I don't mean about things, they are bound to break but I mean about having somewhere where you can keep yourself safe. Thanks a bunch, yes I am terrified.
The California coastline has been built to roll. When a quake hits the building sway back and forth. Try it on the 20th floor sometime. It will scare the heck out of you. But the buildings don't come down. They can't utilize the same model on freeways, which is why they fall down all the time. See the 89 SF quake and the Northridge quake to see what happens to overpasses.
