earthquake zones

How would I sketch an example of an earthquake with different shadow zones and curves of seismic waves?
That's my very last question on my review, but I have not been able to find a diagram that looks like it... I'm confused, can anyone help?
Please check the diagrams in the link given to you below. Hope this is what you are looking for.

American Samoa Hit By 8.3 Magnitude Earthquake - Tsunami's To Hit Pacific Areas !!!!
What is the relationship among the distribution of volcanoes, plate boundaries, and earthquake zones?
Its dealing with the tectonic plates thats all I know
Most volcanoes and earthquakes are found along plate boundaries.
Constructive - Shallow earthquakes, volcanoes (forming island, guyots, sea mounts etc.)
Destructive - Shallow earthquakes, volcanoes
Transform - Major earthquakes (think about San Francisco and the San Andreas Fault)
Collision - No volcanoes and some earthquakes, but mainly orogeny (uplift and mountain building)

There are not more earthquakes now – I checked it out with a geophysicist. There are just more populated centres in earthquake zones and more international news.
In a mining conference liner discussion sponsored by the University of Montana in Polson, Montana, I brought up the argument that a fully drained leach pad (consisting of blasted, excavated, crushed or run-of-mine rock materials placed in controlled ore lifts by truck or conveyor) should not experience liquefaction, only some unravelling of rock down the angle-of-repose lift slopes. Also the earthquake movements in a fully drained and leach moistened ore material will essentially densify and increase the ore strength from the shaking.
The historical case histories for pads in highly active earthquake zones supports this argument to the present day. I also presented a paper at the Mine Waste Conference sponsored by Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado in the late 1990's about the seismic effects on leach pads and referenced papers presented at the Geosynthetics 1997 conference in Long Beach, California that showed laboratory earthquake induced motions on geomembrane liner systems with no change in strength at the composite soil and liner interface contact.
The exceptions to the rule above are valley heap leach pads that pond water internally (valley heap leach designs with process pond storage inside the heap) and any low permeability heap materials (like some sulfide copper heaps) that may pond water internally or on the top surface (like the Cajone leach pad top lift with the lower interlift liners drained and remaining stable under severe shaking). One other exception to the rule, as I noted in the conference discussions would be any leach pad that was marginally stable (ready to fail at excessively steep liner grades, unusualy high ore lift heights, wet and liquefiable foundation subgrade conditions, etc).
Maybe it is time to have another technical paper presentation on this very important subject of stable or unstable fills during seismic events, but also note that the mine owner should not skip a step in not having an experience design and construction liner engineer review each pad site for the conditions that could be the “exceptions to the rule”.
