Do you keep an emergency food supply stocked ?
I live in the Northeast on the coast where we haven't ever had a problem with any kind of severe weather. My power company was out for five days to a couple thousand people and we didn't have any way to cook or freeze/keep food cool during that time so now I'll know better in case it ever happens again. Do you keep any kind of emergency food supply?
Oh and what do you keep in it??
I keep several days worth of canned food and dry food in stock, particularly during the winter, along with several days worth of gasoline for the generator, as well as an extra propane tank for the grill. This is mainly for the winter, because of the snow and ice storms we are subject to in the Ohio Valley. I live in a rural area, and it's not unusual for the power in my area to be off for several days during a large event.

This is hilarious. I just spent part of the weekend browsing the “zombiehunters.org” Web site! The site is basically a survivalist site using the image of zombies as a metaphor for disaster preparedness. Their motto is: “We Make Dead Things Deader”. Great site. They even hold meet ups and events where they go out testing their survival gear.
