What food can be safely stored for long periods in cars for emergencies?
I recently became trapped on a freeway for a few hours due to a chemical spill; while this was not a horrible situation, it got me thinking that I should store emergency supplies in my car. I know bottled water is good, but what packaged food would be safe to store in my car for long periods of time? My car gets parked outside, left places, etc. so it is out in direct sunlight A LOT (heats up interior to 130+ degrees). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
