Nooooo kidding! What ever happened to the ugly Cabbage Patch dolls? Or the medical kits? Or the Dr. Operation! or the.. ummmmmm stuffed animals? they still have those, don't they? Geeeeeeeeez… when I was a kid, you could give me a stuffed animal with its head missing, and I was happy. Stupid contemporary toys! What are they trying to teach kids these days? And then they all try to complain about how kids grow up so fast these days…

After reading this post, I googled Carol Ekarius and Matthew Stein, since I was not familiar with them. Carol’s website seems to be pretty much shut down, but when I saw her books, I realized I was more familar with her than I thought. Matthew’s site had lots of good information and articles. (I have not purchased his book….yet) Are you familiar with Doug Ritter’s website, and especially the forum there? Yes, he trains people in survival techniques, and the forum does have it’s share of obsessed ‘gear geeks,’ but there is a whole forum section on Emergency Preparedness that I have learned a LOT from.Especially helpful have been some EMTs who share their emergency medical knowledge – for stocking first aid kits, what to do and not do in an emergency, etc.

are you telling me cops dont carry a fucking epi pen in their medical kits?
The law has always said you must use reasonable care in giving the aid. Pulling someone from a car like a "rag doll" is not reasonable unless the car is on fire and there is a serious concern about the person being burned alive. That is what is claimed here but other witness saw no such indications. Also grabbing an arm is the wrong way to do it.
Older than the law is the old saying…"No good deed goes unpunished."
But that should not stop you from doing the good deed, it just should make you think about what you are going to do.
