How many people have a emergency plan?
Just curious on how many people have a emergency survival plan for their family? I have enough of everything to last 30-45 days. Why dont people take this seriously?
I'm talking about a limited attack, say a attack on the water supply or a outbreak of some plague. Dont say "I'd rather catch the bomb" you can make a safe room in your house, there are things you can do to protect your family. 30-45 days is a fair amount of time to survive a pandemic or biological attack. Waiting till it happens equates to being a victim.
Randy K this is a sensible question exspecially the way the world is these days.Alot of people do not like to think that a disaster could happen.I have always had a medical box made up.Torches ,can opener,blanket, container of water,asthma sprays just small things that could help if need be.Some tin foods.I dont know about having enough for up to 45 days but lets say enough to get by.Once again very sensible thinking.Lets hope we dont need to use any of it.

Peak Oil Survival : Survive The Long Emergency
If you had to suddenly leave your house because of an emergency, what are the top 10 things you should take?
What things would you take? They can be sentimental or strictly survival gear? Are there any specific things that will up ones chances of survival?
Oh and by emergency I mean natural disaster or sudden evacuation of your area.
Important papers file (mortgage, bills, etc)
Spare clothing (HAT and cooler and warmer clothing)
Weather protection (raincoat, tarp, etc)
Water
High energy food
cell phone and paper with phone numbers
Rope and duct tape
any medicines
signaling (whistle, mirror, etc)
cash and credit cards

Shoot, I had an emergency survival kit long before it was cool, and will probably still have one long after they go out of style. You bring up an interesting point. Bin Laden, and everyone else for that matter, knows that the Democrats would buckle like belts before him. Fueling anti-war sentiment is a key part of his strategy. But I think he overestimates the appeal of the anti-war movement in this country. The media plays it up a lot more than many might think.Don't forget that a lot of people who are against the war are against the war in Iraq, not necessarily the war on terror. These are the folks who see them as two separate and distinct things. If you ask them what they think of Iraq, they'll say it's a mistake. But if you ask them about Osama bin Laden, they'll say “Kill that miserable SOB.”
