how to set up 911 enhanced to send a cellular phone text message to user with emergency details?
i heard E-911 systems can send a text message to emergency responders cell phones with details of call, location and type of call, also used as like a notification saying you have a call. i heard fire departments/countys have that for there fire departments. and ems squads
I'm not sure what your question is.
You cannot send a 911 center text messages. They are not equipped to recieve text messages from 911 callers yet.
Firemen use special pagers that recieve info from the 911 center, but it is nothing like text messaging.

EMS lights on my personal car?
I live in West Virginia and I want to add some EMS lights to my car. I've been working for a local ambulance company for over a year now and have been promoted to the CCT (critical care transport) division. Basically we take people from one hospital to another when the medical helicopters are down or won't take the patient. I am on call 24-7 and have a large area that I cover and need to get to my truck quickly. I am not a Medic or with the Fire Dept, I'm a CEVO (driver/first responder/EMT in classes) Nobody seems to know whether I can have these for calls or not, and I've even checked at the DMV. They have no idea...
I want to surprise friends at work when I get my EMT card in a few weeks so I'm not asking them. What do you people think? Oh, and the car is a 2001 Monty Carlo.
Each state has its own laws about this. check with the State Police or your local police to get the answer.

A close friend of mine recently left EMS for the fire department. He actually was a cop for a while after he left EMS, then he went to the fire department. Of the three, he tells me that on a day to day grind basis EMS far harder to do than either of the other two. Your turn.]]>
