Fire Rescue Paramedic
Have you ever been rescued from any kind of danger/situation?
State what it was and by whom ( fire department, paramedics, civil defence, etc etc.)
Abusive relationship, rescued by an ex (literally rescued) and have been with him for 7 years now. 
I was also rescued from a car accident by 2 fire trucks, and ambulance and 6 patrol cars... no one was hurt... 
Kind of blocked up southwest denver for an hour or so tho... eeew in rush hour. it was NOT fun.

WHEELING FIRE DEPT. - PARAMEDIC SQUAD 1 - EMS RUN
Becoming a firefighter/paramedic?
I want to be a firefighter and have noticed that it is easier to get a job if you apply for firefighter/paramedic.
So I have some questions.
1) How much schooling does it take (years) to get EMT-Paramedic certified?
2) I am an average guy when it comes to smarts, so Is getting your EMT-Paramedic certificate hard academically?
3) Does being a firefighter/paramedic mean you dont get to go on the fire runs?
4) How do you get on the firefighter/rescue team? (i know not really on topic, but curious)
I thank you very much for answering and would appreciate as much detail as you can give. I live in Sacramento, CA if this helps. Also no week answers like "I dont know" please.

1. emt less than a year... medic, one to two more years past the emt..
2.. i have not went to get my medic yet, so i am not sure on that.. the emt was hard but not hard.. check out http://www.emtb.com/9e this will give you some of the info...
3.. no it does not mean that.. it all depends on what type of firefighter that you train for.. you will rotate calls..
4.. i am not sure of what you mean, but my volunteer department does rescue, and all i did was put in an application and bother them until they let me in!!
