japanese earthquake

How would I research if the Korean bomb was in any way causal to the Japanese earthquake?
The timing of both and geographic proximity makes me very suspicious, espeially since Japan is earthquake-prone, there may have been a weakness in the fault lines that was affected by the explosion. Anybody know?
I am not asking if it was causa, I am askinghow can I do my own research and draw my own conclusions!

More Than 100 Injured in Japanese Earthquake
How much more powerful and frequent are Japanese earthquakes than Californian earthquakes?
California's tectonic plates slide past each other, while Japan's push against each other, meaning that Japan usually has more powerful earthquakes. What I'm wondering is how much more powerful these earthquakes are, and how frequently do they occur?
right....
