Is it naiive to think you'll never need to be prepared for a natural disaster?

An answer to another question got me thinking, and I'm shaking my head because I know she's going to get pelted with thumbs.

I'm assuming everyone at risk for something, but are they? If you're not around ice, snow, tornadoes, earthquakes or the coast, and in a small enough town where a terrorist wouldn't bother, does a person need to be prepared? For what?

Yes it is very naive. Those who have the "it'll never happen to me" are the ones that loose their homes, family, or everything mainly because they are ignorant and lazy.

This is complete, total, and utter nonsense. La Haye may write salable novels, but he is about as reliable a prognosticator as my cat.

You should find some weird person online (like from a desperate dating website) and give them all of the contact information of his that you have and tell them "He's looking for love and he told me he was interested in you but is to shy to tell you." Then make up some weird story of how he's into the same really weird things as them. Or maybe just a really ugly looking person. hehe
    maybe? lol XD
