first responder bag How would someone in the Emergency Medical Services treat a Child with Epiglottitis?
I am studying for an exam right now and am getting mixed reviews on how a first responder would treat a child with Epiglottitis. Some sources say to treat with the highest concentration of Oxygen possible and transport, while others say that using something like a bag valve mask with make the child feel claustrophobic. Would you just simply apply Oxygen by a nasal cannula and suction the airway, or would you bag valve mask the child?
