Is it possible for me to move into the wilderness and live off the land without getting arrested for trespassi?

If I was to sell everything I own and just buy supplies for the winter and survival equipment. Is it legal?

Legal, yes. But much harder than you would imagine. My wife and I used to do 1-2 week trips all year round where we lived off just what we had. It is much harder than it seems when you are reading the Tom Brown books. Spend 3 days in a hut with the rain pouring down and out of dry wood and your clothes are damp and you have no fire and it is 45 degrees... do that as an experiment and the whole idea of being Grizzly Adams loses its appeal quite fast. There are people doing it. But it isn't practical unless you are going to try to at least put up some kind of substantial shelter. A tent ain't going to do it. I do know an old fella that lives down by the beach in NC and he has been there many years. He has a hut of sorts and seems to do okay most of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if people were hoarding water – it reminds me a lot of what happened in the DC area after 9-11. Many “survival” supplies were wiped out of stores. Now we've become complacent again, but at that time people really were hoarding bottled water, batteries, antibiotics, etc., thinking that another strike was around the corner. However, I also remember people donating stuff to the New York recovery effort (we drove somewhere in Arlington to donate stuff), donating blood, etc. These tragedies bring out the best and the worst in people.

Hello” I feel that it is “The Medias” “Goverments” “The W.H.O.” responsibilities. To calmly keep informing the {USA population} at least once a week or two on the “News/Radio/News Papers etc. as a series of all the different kinds of preperations we all need to take. Starting with the “poor” and what they must do in stockpiling {any} little something each & everyday from foodbanks/churches etc. and not to touch! and not to tell {anyone} where they're survival supplies are! Everyone should be informed and responsible for starting they're own survival supply pile. Being poor doesen't mean it can't be done. “It must”. All the way threw those that do have money!. Please!!! Calmly inform the USA population more often! and for several months if not longer on what they may need in supplies. A couple of weeks worth is no where near enough.
