What can i do for a red eared slider with general trauma?
we found him outside...some little kids were throwing him around and being mean to him..poking him with sticks etc. he has a cut on his mouth and his neck and a small cut on his tail and a little red bump on the top of his head and he will only move his legs if u poke them..and he wont move his head at all...we think maybe he has general trauma from the kids being mean to him and because hes hurt
he will let people around him...he wont eat and he stays in the same spot and he wont move....
This is going to be tough. Something that helps them is made by Exo-Terra and called Electrodize. It rehydrates him. This should hydrate him enough to move and eat but he will need medical attention by an exotic pets vet and even more of the proper environment that these turtles (even healthy) demand. How do you become a trauma nurse?
I'm currently in nursing school and will have my BSN in a year and a half. I'm interested in trauma nursing, but I am wondering what kind of work/volunteer experience employers look for. Should I work at the ICU or the ER first, or is there a better place to start?
Also, I'm just curious as to what it's like to be a trauma nurse. All I really know is what I see on TV. It looks really exciting and interesting.

ER or prehospital care would be great experience.
Don't fool yourself with the TV. If you want non-stop action, then you'll be looking for a general/city/county hospital in the inter-city. Non-stop violence. It get old quick. Plus these hospitals usually pay less and treat their employees like crap.
Should you want both Trauma, Good pay, and a good experience, look for a Magnet Nursing hospital first. You will be happy you did. Go for 'action' second.

I think that you are depressed, not manically depressed, but really bloody depressed nonetheless. When i was in school i felt like you did too. I didn't even look in the mirror for about 3 years, i could not stand the sight of myself. I got bullied, and i cried so many tears every night for so long, i cut and burned myself and punched myself in the head. I took an overdose, but i ended up being sick so it didn't kill me. So basically, i couldn't have felt much worse than i did. My friend killed himself when i was 15, and i fantasised about doing the same constantly. 16 was a turned point for me, I was still timid and shy, but i began to dye my hair and take more care of myself in general. But it wasn't until i was about 19 or 20 until i came out of my shell, and felt able to talk and chat freely to people in social situations. I still get really nervous at job interviews etc.. But i would never have believed that I could have been the person i am today when i was younger.
I know i will never be beautiful, but i have quirky features that suit my quirky dress sense, and i realise that i am intelligent, caring, and occasionally quite funny, and I now like myself. Physical appearance seems to be everything when you are younger, but in the real world that is not the case, people will like you for who you are. That's not to say that the way you present yourself doesn't matter, as obviously it does to a degree.
I think that as you get older, you naturally become more confident. You might not believe me, but i promise you that i am right. You cannot make assumptions about how your life will be in the future, and wwhetheror not you may get a girlfriend. You are not the person now that you will be for the rest of your life.
I felt awful, and i didn't think any man would want my shy, gawky self when i was younger, but now i am married with two gorgeous kids, and i am happy. I would want to be friends with me now. You just have to make the most of your life, do things you love and enjoy. Travel the world, open a zoo, whatever you want you can do! You just have to bbelievein yourself. Life is a short spark between two eternities of nothingness, you have to make the most of it because you won't get a second chance. xxxxx
